The Mannings

a couple of years ago we shot a wedding, then the couples baby, then some friends of theirs and some friends of theirs and now some friends of theirs. So much of what we do is based on word of mouth. We thank each of you who enjoy our work enough to bring your friends into our studio!

We recently photographed the Manning family. My favorite image is not on here but it is of AJ spitting up on his dad! It's what parent-hood is all about!

Anyway, we enjoyed the short time we had down by the river and look forward to photographing their friends!

The Jones Family

We have not done a family photo in two years!! Kind of sad considering....
We took some time on Thanksgiving to do some photos of the family. We photographed the Speers/Smith/Jones/Magers family.
Hopefully this year we will get our x-mas cards sent out!

a Fall in Love

The sun rises over the tops of the mountain just as I drive past by a Los ranchos vineyard each morning on my way into work. The morning light hits the bright ochre yellow leaves of the cottonwood trees and I think what a perfect time to be outside and photographing a great couple. Last week I had that very opportunity. Will and Ebany, who are getting married next year, came over for an engagement session to capture the fall colors. It was a beautiful afternoon and we walked around the bosque for about an hour. I really enjoyed my time with the two of them and I especially enjoy looking at their images.

Mixed media

Elizabeth came to the studio with a couple of very distinct ideas for her session. She attend the school for performing arts and wanted to incorporate some related things into her shoot. We had drapes of white sheer material and lines of sheet music hanging in the Studio and surrounded her with lights. We then did a Audrey Hepburn style shoot and rounded things off with a clash of color. We had a great time and Elizabeth was perfect to work with!
Keep the ideas coming, the great thing about doing what we do is the freedom to express our ideas or yours, Challenge Us!!!!

Ammon the Warrior

Desiree and I got Ammon's name from an ancient prophet and warrior. There is a scriptural account of Ammon's loyalty to a king, whose flock of sheep Ammon protected by cutting of the arms of those who tried to scatter the flock. Ammon was born with birth mark on his arm and one is in the shape of a lamb sitting on it's haunches.
He has always called himself a warrior.
I am working on a project and needed all three boys to be angels. Kelsyn was the only one to comply. Ammon wanted to be a warrior and Kimball a devil. I don't have a pitchfork and horns but I did have military stuff for another project I'm doing. Ammon balanced the big old helmet on his head, rolled up the sleeves on the trench and grabbed the machine gun. He was instantly in character. This is a fine art piece and will be going into a number of others in one of my collections. IT IS NOT POLITICAL. If you thought it was, shame on you. Or shame on the society that helped define you! Anyway, enjoy... If the thought of a child in a forest with a machine gun frightens you... (stay in next Halloween, it's much safer).

The folks (finally)

OK Rori... I finally, with some gentle reminders from Desiree, am getting this up. I know you haven't seen any of your images yet so put your glasses on, and look at a few of them now. The rest should be ready be easter! \

For everyone else reading this, this cute little couple belongs to Desiree. They are her parents, the Smiths. They got a new puppy this year and wanted to have their new family photographed. We did a split session. Half by the river and half up in the mountains. Gregg limped along (still recovering from knee surgery) Rori got her Pose on and scruffy stuck her nose in everything. We had the boys with us both times and they ran around hiding from bears and throwing rocks in the river. Aside from a burnt out flash (brand new) and shoes full of sand, we had a pretty good time!
By the way, Rori is a great massage therapist, She works from home and can do it all. She does gift certificates if you are looking for a nice Christmas present (besides photography) Tell her I sent you and she'll hook you up...?!probably charge you double!?.. anyway her # is 366-4778.
Cheers!
