A mind of her own!

Sometimes as photographers we have ideas and a mental image of things that we would like to see happen with a shoot, we needed Alyssa to remind us that we are there to capture those things that make our clients unique! When we were photographing her this time, she wasn't feeling the tutu's and costumes, she had something else in store! When she climbed up on the chair and mischievously looked back at us, I knew we had the shot that screamed I'm an individual!

Valentines day gifts

Two of our sessions have been very popular lately, before valentines day we always see a huge increase in these sessions. The first is our pin-up session. With recent trends bringing back some 40's and 50's looks and styles, there has been a huge demand for our classic pin-ups. We photographed the 2007 94 Rock calendar in this style. There are so many things you can do with these period pin-ups that are fun and look great.
Many of our couples (at least the ladies) are also doing intimate sessions for their men. We have a great time shooting these as well. From something very sexy and romantic to something fun and flirty. We are always getting calls after they give the prints or books to their guys, that they were a huge hit and the men that received the images LOVED them! Many of our brides are trading in the bridal session that come with our wedding coverage , for an intimate session as a wedding present for their new husbands.
This time of year with so many couple becoming engaged and with valentines day approaching, is the perfect time to take advantage of this great gift idea. We have a few different options for both the pin-up sessions and the intimate sessions. mysterious ways

There are many different kinds of families in this world, and sometimes we need others to make our families whole. The Snell's are good friends of ours and they received an early Christmas gift this year, Sophie was born December 6th and joined the Snell family shortly thereafter. Everyone knows that Sophie was meant to join their family, she was just meant to be born to another mother. I had the great opportunity to go visit with and photograph them shortly after sophie came home. She truly make a beautiful addition to a beautiful family.
We don't always know why things happen and when, the Lord really works in mysterious ways. We just have to put our trust him him and let his will be done!

the classics

Randy and Brittany have been together since high school. The have a great collection of images of the two of them growing up together in love. Life has now taken them to the point of joining together as one.
Just before Christmas we met this beautiful couple in the foothills of the Sandias. They pulled up in Randy's nice black manly corvette and stepped out holding their cute petite little dogs gizmo and bruiser!
We had a great time photographing them and taking the time to get to know them. We ended with a beautiful sunset that screamed "Photograph Me."
Sometimes I look at this image and I get a throw back to the 70's 80's style of photography. I laugh because it's funny how trends come around more and more. I also look at this image and see two people, in love with one another stepping out of the monotony of the day to take a few minutes to enjoy life with each other. It's a beautiful thing!

A limited engagement ( about 30 a year)

There are many ways we can run our studio, we could hire several photographers and shoot hundreds of weddings a year and rake in the dough. Our we can accept only a limited number of couples, build a relationship with each and be able to provide them with not only great images, but a great personal experience.
We have and still choose the later.
It occurred to me last year when a local winery asked us to be their exclusive photographers, lower my fees and shoot twice as many weddings, that I could easily choose to simply be a photographer show up at a certain time introduce myself to the couple and take pictures. Though most of the pictures would start to look the same and there would be little of the couple personality.
That, however, takes out all of the personal relations that help you get to know us and help us create the images that you are going to love.
Weddings are one for the handful of events in your life that you dream about. It is one of the events that you want to be perfect. It's a time when you need people dedicated just to you and seizing the day for you.

Desiree and I limit the number of couples per year that we can work with to less than 30. This gives us the time to dedicate just to our couples in order to provide that experience that you deserve for this time.

back in the saddle and getting ready to ride

After several weeks away, we are back in the studio and ready to get things going again. Our wedding season is about to get started and we are gearing up for our first and only bridal show of the season.

Although we have been asked by a number of shows to participate this year, we will only be doing the Peak's show at Hotel Albuquerque. We will be there this Sunday from 10-4 (ish). Please come by, say 'hi', and get to know us. We will be giving out copies of our 2008 slide show as well as gift cards for free sessions!
