"Lake So Cold," er, uh, I mean 'Lake Tahoe'

How to have a great time
1)find an amazing location
2)invite only your closest friends and family
3)rent a nice big boat
4)get the above mentioned people in the above mentioned place on the above mentioned boat and have a wedding.
5)try not to get sea sick!!!
that and a few other trivial things like, oh I don't know, say, flowers, a wedding dress, food, a gluten free cake, and a full moon made a perfect time for Malynda and Ian.
Oh, did I mention 40 mile an hour gusts and below freezing temperatures.
Weather aside it was a beautiful time in a beautiful place with beautiful people.
I only have a few images below, I will get more up as i get my laptop back together, (it's requiring emergency surgery to replace an LCD inverter that went out while we were there in Tahoe)

Dalya

This post (as is often the case) is way over due. We were able to work, once again, with a wonderful family. Nesli, Adam and their little addition Dalya. It is an amazing thing to see such a beautiful family choose to bring a little soul to this earth to protect and care for. I think we sometimes get carried up in all of our day to day...stuff...that we don't take the time to stop and realize what a true miracle life is. How fragile, yet so strong; how insignificant, yet so important; how small, yet still so overwhelming - life is a beautiful gift. Thank you two for letting us be a part of this time in your life.

A walk though the gardens

I would have have had this post up sooner but my laptop is on the blink. I found the problem, ordered the part and will be able to post from home as soon as I replace the part! By the way, if your laptop monitor goes out, it might be your lcd inverter!! Ya learn somethin' new everyday!

Anyway...

Last week we took a walk through the botanical gardens with Laura and Jason. We wanted to get a feel for spring in New Mexico and, as is normal for spring in NM, we had to reschedule our first session because of wind and a surprise cold front. A week later we met them for a nice walk through the gardens and to photograph them for some engagements. Jason and Laura were a great couple to work with, they looked great and made it easy for us to get some great images of them.

The Depoys

Another session from Dr. Fackrell's office, the Depoy family. The Depoy family came into the studio last week for a little studio session and we could immediately tell is was going to be fun. Three very active kids. We took them back into the camera room and just played around with them and took some pictures. The kids were great. Even the two year old energy and curiosity was easily tamed. Aidan was one of the easiest two year olds we've worked with!
The Depoys are great people both in the medical field. Desiree right away recognized Marlene, she has seen her a few times at the hospital while there with NILMDTS.
Dr. Brad is a great chiropractor and is focused on complete wellness, not just a quick-fix adjustment. If you would like to talk to him about what he can do to optimize your health visit his site and give them a call. His office is Straight Chiropractic, it's on Souther in RR.

The Hesse family

Three times a week we go to see our great chiropractor , Dr. Brad Fackrell with Straight Chiropractic. He gave a number of his patients a photo session with us. After a few weeks of trying to get connected with everyone we finally were able to get some sessions scheduled and start shooting. We will be posting a few from each of these sessions over the next few weeks!
I was not able to be apart of this shoot. I was in another studio shoot that went a bit over. Desiree went with the Hesse family over to the park near Old Town and had a great time photographing this great little family.

Life

Last week Desiree got a call from a long time Client and friend of ours, Teal. She was due on Saturday with their fourth miracle baby, and wanted to get some maternity images done. We went over the next day and photographed her and her family. She let us know when she was due and asked if Desiree would come to the hospital and photograph the birth of their newest baby. The next afternoon after a long day of work Desiree was taking a nap and I was out with our sons doing a little treasure hunting with our GPS. We were about a mile from the house and the call came. Desiree wasn't awake to answer the phone so the boys and I sprinted back to the house, woke Desiree up and got her out the door. Several hours later
I got a call from Desiree telling me what an amazing experience she just had.
Then today we went over to her house again to take some more pictures of their little Isabella Rose.
We have enjoyed the times we have been able to work with Teal and her family, our shoots with them are never dull! Thanks guys!

Mark & Stephanie

I don't need to say a whole lot about Mark and Stephanie. They booked the wedding date well over a year ago and we are excited to be a part of it. They are two great people and we enjoyed the time we were able to spend together last night doing pictures and getting to know each other more.
I couldn't make up my mind on the images I wanted to put up so I am uploading a bunch of them!

Let us know what you think!
